C.M. Paula and Remtec Automation Headquarters Expansion Is Complete

Second-generation, family-owned holding company, C.M. Paula has announced the completion of a $3.7 million facility expansion project at its headquarters in Mason, Ohio. The expansion has added approximately 36,000 square feet to the facility, amounting to a 60% increase in space.

C.M. Paula acquired Remtec Automation in 2014 and work began on the Hi Tek Court facility in September of 2022. The newly expanded facility will primarily serve Remtec Automation, where we will continue to develop robotic systems and automation solutions for a wide range of advanced manufacturing industries.

Two other C.M. Paula subsidiaries will also be accommodated in the new space, Up With Paper, a pop-up greeting card company; and GeoCentral, a wholesale supplier of rocks, crystals, holistic gemstones, and more.

The expansion project has made the C.M. Paula facility the first fully solar-powered business in Mason with 550 solar panels incorporated into the newly constructed area. According to George White, CEO of C.M. Paula, “Our dedication to being best-in-class means we not only provide the best products and services, but we also operate more reliably and efficiently to support a more sustainable future.”

The Property Assessment Clean Energy (PACE) program, launched by the city of Mason, allows property owners to receive funding upfront to install a clean energy system. Mason officials eagerly supported the C.M. Paula project with the goal of promoting additional solar-powered, energy efficient business projects in the area.

City of Mason Mayor Barbara Spaeth and Director of Economic Development Michele Blair have expressed enthusiasm for the positive impact this partnership will have on the area. In addition to significant economic benefits for Mason, the city council also approved a Community Reinvestment Act of 100 percent real property improvements for seven years, contingent upon the company making an annual compensation payment to Mason City Schools for the term of the abatement period.
